Dümmen Orange
Managing Director Naivasha
Dümmen Orange was founded in 2015 by a combination of the world's best breeders. This makes Dümmen Orange a global leader in breeding and propagation of ornamental plants. With an impressive portfolio of cut flowers, potted plants, bedding plants and perennials, the company has acquired a clear position in this sector. Dümmen Orange develops stronger, healthier and more beautiful flowers and plants. Think of properties such as colour, scent and shape, but also less conspicuous but important characteristics, such as resistance to diseases and pests, yield and growth habit.
Dümmen Orange has more than 330 hectares of cultivation area at its various locations in Africa, South and Central America and Asia. This is where the mother plant stock is built up and where we propagate starting material such as cuttings or young plants from tissue culture.
The location in Naivasha is not a standard cutting production company, millions of cuttings are rooted at this location every year and, in the case of roses, also grafted in advance. The largest products are rose and chrysanthemum, but also carnation, gerbera and limonium cuttings are rooted. In addition, this is a location with a breeding greenhouse as well as a large show greenhouse where customers can admire the existing and new varieties.
The products produced in Naivasha all go to customers in Kenya. These customers produce cut flowers, so that ultimately millions of people around the world enjoy beautiful cut flowers.
